Seedance 2.0 Series

Overview

Seedance 2.0 is a reference-driven video creation series. You can start from text, or use image, video, and audio references to continue, reshape, or keep a look and feel consistent.

Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 fast both support:

  • text-to-video
  • image-to-video with a first frame
  • image-to-video with first and last frames
  • multimodal reference video generation

If you are still exploring, start with fast for the first draft. Once your direction is clear, switch to 2.0 for the final cut.

Best-fit scenarios

  • Turn a short idea into a first draft
  • Lock a character, scene, or composition with a first frame
  • Control the beginning and ending with first and last frames
  • Keep style, pacing, or source relationships aligned with multiple references
  • Continue, edit, or extend a clip with reference video

1) Decide your input style first

  • If you are starting from text, describe the subject, action, camera, and mood clearly.
  • If you already have a key frame, use an image reference first.
  • If you already have footage, use video reference to continue or reshape it.
  • If you need combined control, add audio reference as part of the set.

2) Keep references focused

  • Up to 9 images are supported.
  • Up to 3 videos are supported.
  • Up to 3 audio clips are supported.
  • Do not use audio by itself. You need at least one image or video reference.
  • Keep each reference video and audio clip within 2~15 seconds.

3) Start short to test direction

  • Output duration supports 4~15 seconds, or -1 to let the model choose an integer length.
  • 1080p is not available, so plan around 480p or 720p.
  • If you are exploring pacing, start with a short clip before extending the idea.

4) Finish with the final cut

  • First lock the visual relationship, character consistency, and camera rhythm.
  • Once the direction feels right, render the final version.
  • If you want a more explicit continuation, edit, or extension workflow, prefer Seedance 2.0.

Creator tips

  • Cleaner references usually lead to more stable outputs.
  • Start with one core reference set, then add more only if you need them.
  • Avoid loading the first draft with too many inputs at once.
  • Audio can help as part of a reference set, but it cannot work alone.
  • Do not plan for 1080p; design your shots with 720p in mind.
